Hello everyone!
I am excited to share something The Lord has put on my heart to pursue for the expansion of His Kingdom! For those of you that know me well, you know that I love the outdoors and to be active. The longer I have had the blessing of being in Ghana serving The Lord, the more places He has allowed me to discover that are beautiful. The roads to the beautiful places are not always smooth or easily accessible. Especially, the villages off the road, they are more remote and considered “bush”. What I have felt The Lord lay on my heart is to plan out a way to visit these remote villages and seek the opportunity to share the good news with them! So, with the help of some good friends here, I have started the process of planning a long bicycle ride with a small group from the city of Aflao, where I am currently living, to the beautiful small mountain destination called Hohoe. The destination from Aflao to Hohoe is 189 KM and a 4-hour car ride. The plan would be to use about 2 weeks to ride bicycles from Aflao to Hohoe while intentionally stopping in remote villages along the way to stay in. While in the villages, we would have the goal to set up and show the Jesus Film in the local language of Ewe for the people in the village to come and watch together. We would invite all people willing to come, and offer a local hot drink called Milo and some bread to have with it. The hope and prayer would be that people would come in relationship with Christ through the film, and we can make plan to connect these people with any local pastors or other believers in the area. The goal would be to stay two nights in each village to build relationships and promote the Jesus Film to show the last night we are there.
This will be a grueling yet fulfilling journey! The roads will be rough and long, but the potential of meeting hundreds of new friends and hopefully new brothers and sisters in Christ will make all the hard work worth it! We are all commanded to GO…. For this season we will plan towards going on the Road Less Traveled.
I would like to ask you to please join in prayer as we prepare for this long journey. The estimated goal is for this to take place in October! From now until then, we will be scouting the exact route to take, the villages to stop in, and training physically, mentally, and most important spiritually for this new journey! If you feel lead to contribute towards sponsoring a rider, then please feel free to do so on our website!! I will be posting information concerning funds needed per individual and for the whole group. All costs are estimated according to one sporting goods store I found in the capital city of Ghana. Please feel free to contact me for any questions concerning this event!!! God bless you!!
