Lord prepare me, to be sanctuary.
Pure and holy, tried and true.
With thanksgiving, I’ll be a living, sanctuary for You.
To The Nations, I’ll follow You Lord. Be exalted. Be adored.
Come now Jesus. And lead your people. To the nations and to all lands.
Hello everyone!
The song above is very dear to me. I remember singing this as I was preparing to leave for India back in 2014. The lyrics of this song have been close to my heart since then.
To The Nations, I’ll follow You Lord, be exalted, be adored.
I want to follow Him where He leads. I have recently shifted from the Zuime area to a different area about 25 minutes away. Since I have moved here, I have strongly felt The Lord bringing focus to the spiritual darkness around me. I have not explored too much of this new area much, but the spiritual oppression and bondage from the surrounding traditionalist shrines are evident and heavy. The first picture is of a Fetish shrine that right beside where I stay now. Often, there are groups of the shrine devotees that will walk around early in the morning ringing their bells and chanting songs of worship to their idol. Also, just a few days ago, the season of Ramadan began. This is a time the Muslim community will partake in devoted fasting from food and water every day from dawn to dusk for one whole month. In just a few weeks, Christians will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. As I ponder all of this, and the current spiritual state globally, my heart is seeking The Lord for a faith that is pure and holy, tried and true. Every day seems to be a spiritual battle. It is not something I can do on my own. I can only trust my Jesus as I put on the Armor of God for these daily battles. Right now, I am praying for a teammate to join me in these battles. I am praying that there will be a national partner here that is willing to join me into these dark places. The Lord is teaching me that to follow the model of Jesus, everything needs to be done with the intention for it to be replicated and taken ownership of by the locals here. Equipping. Discipleship. Mobilization. These are the three areas I will be focusing on here. Doors are opening, and connections are being made. Educational interventions, community development, and discipleship are still at the core of what I feel led to do here, and I look forward to seeing how God will continue to lead and provide these partnerships for His Kingdom Work. Thank you all for the continued prayers, counsel, and support!! I am also praying for you all as The Lord leads you in how to follow and be a living sanctuary for Him.
SOME UPDATES FROM THE PAST FEW WEEKS OF MY RETURN
Dear friends came to pick me up from Accra to bring me back to the Volta Region. So grateful for the family God has provided me here in Ghana!!
Visited the Sustaining Love Kids program in Zuime to say hello!! They all loved the
“THINK LIKE JESUS” bracelets that a friend of mine sent with me back to Ghana to pass out.
I had the opportunity to go and help out with a youth retreat in Ho which is where I have some ministry connections. The theme was “Armor of God”. We were able to practice wearing the Armor of God even while playing competitive sports such as Volleyball!
I traveled to visit with Glady and Joseph who implement Open Schools World Wide programs in Ghana. I brought them some of the learning supplies that FBC Albertville generously sent with me (and more is soon to be on the way!). She was so excited to receive the flash cards, dominos, and other learning games and resources to use for the programs! I look forward to continued partnership with her. I love her heart for filling the gaps in children’s education and discipleship!
As I had mentioned before, Ramadan is currently taking place. I would like to share the exciting news that this young girl who attends the Sustaining Love Kids program has recently shared with one of the teachers that she has decided to follow Jesus! This will not be an easy path for her as her family may give resistance to her growth in Christ. Please pray that there will be peace in conversations of how to disciple and provide access of God’s Word for her to read and grow in understanding. May she be the beginning of a movement in her community!
Be exalted. Be adored.
God Bless you all!
Chelsi
