But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love. Ephesians 4:15-16
Hello everyone,
I wanted to take this time to update you all on the continued work that is going on in Zuime even though I am not able to be there physically now, the work continues and that is all because of the united body of Christ. These photos I am sharing have all been sent to me by my brothers and sisters in Zuime who have been taking care of the needs that I normally help with when I am there. School sponsorships, medical care, food provisions, and home visits are to name a few examples of what has been able to continue over the months. School has now resumed for all ages from primary to college age. Ghana is still experiencing some challenges within their government to battle COVID. The land borders are still closed. This means the buying and selling of goods, which most families rely on for survival money, is still at a halt. But, with the continuing of challenges, I am receiving encouraging news from my brothers and sisters there that the churches are hosting revivals, and the children are excited to be back in school. If we are followers of Christ, we have no other choice but to press on. It does not matter whether we are in a developing country or living in the West. We are to look up when times are hard and trust that no matter what, God is in control.
I am so thankful for the avenue I have been able to send support for this continued work to go on. I have been able to send 4 different transfers which have taken care of the needs you see in the photos. This is all possible because of the continued support given from people here as well as the faithful brothers and sisters there receiving the funds and allocating it where it needs to be.
PERSONAL UPDATE:
I would also like to take this time to fill you all in on what I have been up to personally and what the way forward is right now. I know so many of you have been in prayer and sending encouragement in this season I have been of waiting and listening. I was finally able to complete the necessary medical consultations and lab tests to investigate what is the cause of the blood clot I was diagnosed with while in Ghana. I was informed that I have a Protein C deficiency which can be a lifetime risk of blot clots if precaution not taken. I do not believe this a life-threatening risk, but I want to be wise with the information I have been given and take precautions, so I have decided to continue a blood thinning medication for now.
During this season of being back in the States, I have been praying and seeking for what it is I should do next. My prayer has been for The Lord to use me however, wherever, and whenever. I am available. As I have been waiting to see if and how I can return to Ghana, I have been helping in my mom’s classroom at her school. This has opened my eyes to the great need that we also have here in the States to show the love of Christ to His precious children. As I have been doing this, I have also been in the process of applying for a sending organization called Equip International based out of North Carolina. If it is The Lord’s will, then I can return to Ghana with the support and guidance of an organization. I have proposed a ministry to them where I would return to Zuime and begin a children and youth focused ministry. This ministry’s goal would be to provide educational and Christ centered care for vulnerable children and youth after school lets out until the evening. I would return to Ghana with the intention of discipling, training, and equipping a group of believers and teachers to one day take ownership and responsibility of the ministry and rely on Christ to sustain.
I ask you all to please join me in praying through this whether it is the will of God to continue pursuing this. Thank you all for continued support and encouragement which allows the continued work to go on here and afar.
Please feel free to reach out to me to discuss any of this further or just to connect!
In His love,
Chelsi
